Every film is one complete piece of work at one fixed price — interviews, filming, editing and delivery, all included. What changes is the shape of the story: one life, two lives together, or something larger for the whole family.

One person, one complete life-story film — the heart of what I do.

A full film for each partner, and a shared chapter on the life you have built together.

A larger production for the whole family — several voices, and a longer film to hold a family’s history.

Talk it through

All prices include GST. A film is paid 50% to begin and 50% on delivery of the final cut. “The Legacy” is a working title — this third option is still being shaped.

What every film includes

No hourly rates, no surprises — the whole craft, start to finish.

The making

  • Background calls with family and friends
  • Sourcing your photographs and any old home footage
  • Two filmed interviews, an hour each, at a place of your choosing
  • Two cameras, with lighting where it is needed
  • Editing, with rounds of your feedback

What you keep

  • A 45–60 minute final cut of a life
  • The finished film by digital transfer
  • A storage device with the interviews, final cut, photos and videos
  • A 2-minute trailer, on request

The details behind the price.

Payment

50% to begin and 50% on delivery of the final cut, by electronic transfer, with an invoice by email. Changes can still be made to the final cut once the balance is paid.

Travel

I film right across Victoria. Travel beyond a 100 km radius is charged at 88 cents per kilometre past the 100 km mark — the rate set by the ATO.

Timing

Around five to six weeks end to end: a week of background interviews, a day of filming, a fortnight for the first edit and a fortnight for changes.
